How Many Cards are Dealt in Tongits and What is the Goal?
Valid Card Combinations (Bahay / Melds)
Three or Four of a Kind: Three or four cards of the same numerical rank (e.g. 7-7-7 or K-K-K-K).
Straight Flush (Run): Three or more sequential cards sharing the exact same suit (e.g. 4-5-6 of Hearts or 10-J-Q-K of Spades).
Aces can be low (A-2-3) or high (Q-K-A), depending on sequence structure.
Chow, Draw, and Sapaw Turn Actions
On your turn, you can either pick the face-up card discarded by the player to your right ('Chow' - but only if it immediately forms a new meld) or draw a blind card from the center stock deck.
You can then expose new valid melds on the table, perform 'Sapaw' by attaching matching cards to existing exposed melds, and finish your turn by discarding one unwanted card.
Calling a Fight and the Sunog (Burnout) Penalty
If you have opened at least one meld and believe your unmatched deadwood total is lowest, you can declare a 'Fight'. Opponents can Fold or Challenge.
If an opponent challenges with fewer points, you lose and pay double. Any player who failed to expose a meld all game is declared 'Sunog' and pays severe penalty fees.
